Sometimes it’s the mundane that awakens wonder.

Let go
You need to let go to make room to whatever you want. When I desperately wait on the idea for a painting, nothing happens. No flash of inspiration, no creative sign, nothing at all. Instead, when I do mundane tasks like organizing my art supplies or preparing a meal or washing the dishes inspiration suddenly sparks.
Focus
When you focus on a goal, do that with all your heart and fully set your mind to it. For a limited time. Then let go, release that goal, with trusting in it. And the rest is taken care of.
Goals cannot become real when still cramped in your head or hands. Quite contrary, with empty head and hands you make room to something new. And inspiration needs that room to bring to you the desired.
My painting “Beauty in the Mundane” was inspired by the supposed mundane and consists of various colorful, contrasting layers of acrylic paint, ink and charcoal. On your wall, it reminds you to let go and appreciate the beauty in the mundane every now and then.
